The Sparrows

79th Light Anti Aircraft Battery (Royal Artillery)

This book is a unit history of the 79th Light Anti Aircraft Battery . What makes this unit history a great addition to any Australian Military history collection, is it contains a few chapters that deal with the connection between members of Royal Battery and Australia’s Sparrow Force in Timor 1942. Not only did members of the 79 LAA Battery join Sparrow Force, but  were also given the Australian Slouch Hat to wear in the jungle conditions.
